Water Color

Last weekend, I let my son use his free water color set from Enfakid A+.  He had lots of fun, painting the coloring pages that I printed out for him.
Hubby and I got in on the fun too... Adam was so proud of his work that he put them all on display on our refrigerator door.  After that, he had nothing else to talk about but coloring the rest of the day.  Even during Sunday mass, he kept saying that he was going to show Mamu & Dada (my parents, his grandparents) all of his work and that we should print more coloring pages so he could paint more.  I asked him to be quiet at least during mass and we will do so... He was very good and quiet until the mass was finished that we rewarded him to a trip to the mall and his favorite arcade.  Afterwards, we had early dinner at KFC.

Manila Zoo

It has been over a decade since my last trip to Manila Zoo so I was excited both for my son (who will see it for the first time) and for me too. I have been hearing good reviews of the renovations for this place that I have been wanting to visit for the longest time. Hubby and I were awake and getting ready for the trip as early as 7AM, unfortunately, we let Adam sleep late the night before so he woke up late (9AM), as a result, it was already past 10AM when we left the house. My mom, dad, youngest sister, Mae and my neice, Cheska, went with us on our "field trip".

Anyway, the trip itself was quick enough since it was a weekday and we didn't encounter that much traffic. Manila Zoo was... well, a bit disappointing for me since I was expecting a much improved place, but that's just me... what's important is that Adam loved seeing the animals for the first time (well, most of them, he saw for the first time) instead of just looking at them in his picture books or seeing them on TV and videos. He almost threw a tantrum though, when the "bebra" (his way of saying zebra) didn't come out in the open. It was the one animal he really wanted to see in person but Adam had bend over the fence just to get a peek. Good thing when went over to the tigers cage, they were roaring and moving around... he really enjoyed that and didn't want to go to see the other animals anymore. He loved hearing the tigers loud roars (while I was scared just hearing one roar) and even imitated them. We stayed in front of the tigers' cage for a good twenty minutes. The only reason Adam lost interest was when Charlie bought him a monkey stuffed toy from a vendor nearby. Adam hung the monkey around his neck even as we gave him his milk while sitting in one of the benches inside the park.

After the "field trip" we went to Congo Grille at SM Mall of Asia for a super late lunch and also to celebrate my youngest sister's birthday. We were supposed to go on the "Cruise" of Manila Bay right behind MOA but the kids were all tired out already so decided to postpone it to a later date. We passed by Dampa instead to buy prawns (my sister's favorite) which we later cooked in lemon butter sauce and ate to our belly's content for dinner.

P.S.
Kiong Hee Huat Tsai!

Charles Adam

The 26th of January marked my son's first birthday.  It started out quite normal for me, I went to work as usual and thought I was just going to have food delivered when I get home that afternoon (I was going to go home early to be with my son) but my Dad had other plans pala.  At around two in the afternoon, as I was already preparing to leave early, my Dad brought my son to the office.  He said he thought that since it was Adam's birthday he should be with me, hehehe, mainipin si Lolo!  Anyway, since he was already there, I just had food delivered to the office for a birthday treat cum "merienda" for some of my officemates.  And then we went home at my usual time off.

January 29, Friday, I brought Adam to Kids' Hair Salon in Southmall, Las Piñas to have his first haircut.

At first, I said "wow, ang bait naman pala magpagupit ng baby ko", because he was really just his usual curious self.  Slightly "malikot" but he was letting the hair-cutter do his job.  He was even watching the Barney video they provided.  And then after several minutes, he already lost interest in the video and started to get uneasy.  I tried to divert his attention to the toy car that he was sitting on and I succeeded naman for about a minute or so and then he started fidgeting again.  When I didn't carry him off the seat that he wanted to get out of, he started crying.  Buti na lang the staff there were really patient and always ready for such situations.  They gave him a lollipop and Adam calmed down again until his haircut was finished!  After his haircut, he looked even more like his father (if that was possible) than before!

Then on January 30, Saturday at 4:30 in the afternoon, we had a small celebration for Adam's first birthday at McDonald's in Sucat, Palanyag.  It was a fun affair that was shared by our relatives and close friends.  There were also blunders like the video camera loosing its battery charge just at the start of the party (I checked it a couple of hours before the party and it was fully charged, the problem was I forgot to turn it off, thus...) and the fact that I forgot to have the tarpauline layout I made printed but aside from that, the kids and adults had fun, the food was ample and as usual, yummy and the appearance of the mascots were a hit!  I'm still sorting through the pictures and video and should be able to upload them by the end of this week, for now, I am just so happy that I got to experience yet another parenthood milestone and am looking forward to experiencing more!  Thanks to everyone who helped make my son's celebration a success!

I Love You, Goodbye

One of my best friends, Jaybee is leaving for the US on the 25th.  He has been a constant in my life since 1998 so it really is going to be quite an adjustment to not see him at the office or go on night-outs and weekend gimmiks without him.  But I am truly happy for him because he will be with his wife already.  As a send-off we (several of his friends and officemates) treated him to a videoke bar.  It was a lot of fun!

We will miss you Jaybee!

Cheese Popcorn

Food Friday

Today, right after I got off from work, I went straight to the nearest mall... Quickly bought groceries for the following week and then bought this:

A bucket of cheese popcorn from popperoo!

Hubby and I made tonight a movie night and watched the DVD of Stephen King's "The Shawshank Redemption". I know it's an old film already but hubby has yet to watch it and since an officemate of mine lent it to me for the weekend, we decided to make a movie night of it. Of course by the end of the movie our hands were orangy yellow from the cheese flavoring of the popcorn and it was already time for an uber late dinner but it was fun. It's been a while since Charlie and I went out to watch a movie but this is better. We get to kick off our shoes and put our feet up and cuddle while watching the movie. We must do this again soon!

Fettuccine Alfredo & Chicken Wings

Food Friday

Last night, after work, I went straight to my parents' house. The original plan was that I was just going to pick up the money and gift check from my Mom but hubby texted that I wait for him there because he has a basketball game after office hours so I'd be bored if I went home early. So I waited for Charlie to pick me up and then afterwards, we went to a Pizza Hut in a nearby mall. I feasted on Fetuccine Alfredo while hubby had Garlic Shrimps and Mushroom Pasta. Aside from that, we decided to split the Chicken Wings and Garlic and Sausage Pizza. O di ba? Super takaw kami, hahaha!

What's Sexy About My Name?

I was browsing through blogthings and this caught my eye, so I gave it a try and here's the result:

What's Sexy About Your Name

You are sexy because you are very generous. You are a giver both in and out of the bedroom.

And while you enjoy pleasing your partner, your generosity doesn't extend much further than that.

You have all the love, patience, and attention in the world for one person.

You get a lot of satisfaction from doting on and spoiling someone.

When you're in love, you tend to create your own little world with your partner.

You can spend the whole day in bed together and hardly notice the time that's passed.

More Batangas Pictures

As most of my regular visitors would notice, updates on this blog has been a bit scarce lately, I guess I'm still catching up on what work and other stuff I missed while I was "away" that blogging just has to take a backseat for a while longer... Anyways, to make up for the lack of updates, I am posting more pictures from the outing last May 16:

Technorati Fave Link Exchange

I came across Vhiel's blog while bloghopping and there I found out about this:

Technorati Favorite Link Exchange

And so I thought I'd join the fun and spread the word so more can join too... The mechanics can be found here. If you want to take part of this "blog party" to gain more blogger friends don't hesitate to do so.

Girls' Night Out

Last tuesday (ok, I know it's already Thursday today, but what can I do, I didn't get a chance to blog about this sooner so bear with me) my sister Hazelle celebrated her 21st birthday. How? Well it was simple, we just decided to have pizza at a nearby mall. It turned out to be a fun girls' night out for us... with just my mom, zelle (the celebrant, of course), mae (my youngest sister), lynne (my sister also), me, and marianne (my neice).

Funny First Dance

I Don't know if I am the only one who has not seen this because it has been circulating around the web for a long time now (so I've heard) but I just can't help but post this here because it's so funny...

Kiss Quiz

I got this from Thet... just wanted to post something light after a couple of cryptic, slightly heavy posts...

Your Kissing Technique Is: Perfect

Your kissing technique is amazing - and you know it.
You have the confidence to make the first move.
And you always seem to know what kissing style is going to work best.
Sometimes you're passionate, sometimes you're a tease. And you're always amazing!

Imagine that?! I would never have thought that I would be classified as an amazing kisser.. nyahahaha! I guess it comes with having lots of practice... nyahahaha!

P.S.

Here's the picture we took last Holloween that I wasn't able to post previously...

As of the moment I would like to extend my apologies for the lack of updates for quite a long time and for not e-mailing those I'm supposed to. Maybe my blog will be more active now that I have access to the net again.... MAYBE!

Anyways, for additional kwento:

Baby Things
My cousin sent me the sketchers rubber shoes (which are so cute since it's so small it fits in Charlie's Palm) and multi colored baby blankets and a burp cloth. I almost cried when I got them because I know it would be a long time before we would be able to use them... but enough of that, I just don't want to dwell on the sad thoughts anymore. Anyway I have a lot of people praying for me I could form a prayer brigade... besides Charlie and I are enjoying each others' company and taking in life one day at a time.

Paliwanag, and all that!

What's new?! I just came from a long, tiring and boring "blog-update-less" existence and I cannot begin to describe or explain the things that happened to me while I was not able to get access to my own blog...

First, I couldn't go online at home anymore because I have discarded my antique PC and have yet to purchase a new one, second our internet connection at the office has been non-existent since "Milenyo" (but obviously is now restored since I am able to write this post today, hehehe!) and then even if there was a connection here I wouldn't have been able to write one because I was on sick leave for 10 days! I got the worse luck last month, whew! Buti na lang November na, baka my luck has changed already. Anyway, here's bits and pieces of kwento on the past happenings....

Melfender meets Melfender

My favorite cousin Mel-mel visited me a weeks ago and we spent the afternoon together. She kept on making kwento in her slightly "bulol" way and I kept laughing at her mixed up stories. I took the picture above... I kept saying Wow! Magkamukha kayo ng deco-doll namin! So I named the doll "Fendi" (one of our pet names for Melfender)

Fun

One time, Charlie picked me up from work and when we saw what the other was wearing we laughed out loud... we were wearing the same color shirts! Hehehe, it was totally by accident because he wasn't wearing that shirt when he went to work but had to change because he spilled something on what he was wearing and the only shirt he had left in his locker was the same color as what I wore to work that day.... we took several pictures to commemmorate the event, hehehe! Babaw namin no?

Holloween

My sisters spent several days with me during their semestral break from school and we ended our fun "vacation" time by fooling around during holloween. (picture to follow since I have to get home already and have not yet uploaded the pics)

Hiatus Over!

Hey! I go away for a long time and I get no visits? Hmmp! I guess, this goes to show how truly popular I am... Anyways, for the lurkers out there, yes, I am back and hopefully for good! I have just been from a three-week absence from the blogging world. Anyways, here are the reasons:

First, the Subic Seminar:
Gosh! This seminar is a combination of good and tiring things... Let's start with the tiring stuff... The seminar was jampacked with activities, tests and assignments. Although basically a review of previous knowledge, it became an opportunity to brush away the cobwebs that are slowly beginning to cover my brain cells. hehehehe! But the good news is that I got to do a little duty free shopping there! And of course I got to meet new friends! Oh, and best of all (ngek! di naman best pero kakatuwa lang kasi first time!) I got to experience my first Casino visit! We even spent several minutes at the slot machines! Now I understand why some people find it addicting...

Anyways, in the picture (sorry blurred, magalaw kasi e, dami passers by saka gabi na) you will see Carla, me, Marj, Abby and Arlene... plus Junet who took the picture make up the "Party Animals" (secret joke there!)

And here's one taken after a meal at the hotel. (Junet is the one standing... and don't mind the date-stamp kasi I forgot to set my digicam)

Then right after I got back from Subic, I got sick! I got the flu, and even though I dragged myself back to work, I didn't have the strength to compose something to publish for this blog...

And then, when I finally recovered, I had to finish a lot of paperwork as well as shop for gifts for my Ninang V, who celebrated her birthday last October 8; my inaanak, Aliyah who turned one last October 16 and my Inang Chayong (my grandmother) who turned 88 last October 19. So now... I hope I can go back to my normal blogging ways... The paperwork has receded, the gifts has been distributed, the celebrations (except for one) had been attended and now I have a bit of free time... hmmm, but I'm kinda tired na, (yawn) so I better get some ZZZZs first, be back for more kwento and pictures later.

By the way, thanks to Mhay for the colored text tip... sometimes kasi the answer is right before you all the while kaya lang you have to have someone to point it out to you pa.
