2012

We have been blessed with so much this past year, 2011... I have only to pray that 2012 will be filled with as much laughter and happiness as the year that was.  And if there be trials that come our way, may we continue to strive hard to overcome them and remember the knowledge that we would gain from each experience, good or bad.  I pray for prosperity and good health for my family and friends... Happy New Year everyone!

Three Kings

Last Saturday my cousin Levie had a celebration cum Thanksgiving for having passed the Nursing Board Exam (Congrats Levie!).  It was also an opportunity for a family get-together and photo-ops.  Since it was the first time that "the three kings" - that's what our relatives call my son and the sons of two of my cousins because they were born a month apart and they're all boys - got together, most the cameras were focused on them.  Of course, the pictures included their mommies so here they are...

Of the three, Ethan was born first (Dec. 4, 2008), then came my little Adam (Jan. 26, 2009) and then NC (Feb. 13, 2009).  It was our Uncle Jim who coined the "Three Kings" bit.  He even said Ethan was going to be called Mel (short for Melchor), Adam was to be Gas (short for Gaspar) and NC would be Bal (short for Baltazar).  Of course only Uncle Jim calls them that, hehehe!

Catching up

It's already the 2nd day of April and I have yet to post anything other than a couple of tags... This is mainly because I have been subjected to mountains of paperwork and rush reports at work! Well, I have a little down time from the paperwork now and I am still awaiting the submission of reports from some schools (which prefer to be ALWAYS late!) before I make a consolidation so I decided to post a little something about my recent events...

My friends/co-employees and I went to another co-employees' daughter's 1st birthday party after office. Belated Happy Birthday Irish!

March 29

I was supposed to go to another co-employee's despedida but was not able to due to a migrane attack... I spent the whole day inside my room with the airconditioning on! I'm sure our next electric bill will balloon due to this and our recent longer usage of the aircon... we just can't help it because it really is very hot these days. Anyways, Good luck ate Edith G.! I hope we would still hear from you even if you're already in Canada!

March 30

Charlie and I finished lots of house chores in the morning and then I watched movies on HBO while hubby went to watch a cockfight in the afternoon. We heard evening mass at St. Andrew's around 6pm and went straight home for an early dinner. We went to bed earlier than usual also, I guess because we wanted to be able to wake up early to start another work week the next day!

March 31

Let's just stay it wasn't such a good start for a work week for me... Reports were coming in late and the ones that I have received needed to be returned due to missing data and/or erroneous formats and data! I had to go on overtime just so I could make progress on the consolidation. Unfortunately, some of the schools still have yet to submit their data so I have not been able to finish the consolidation!

April 1

I attempted to write a post but ended up just doing a couple of tags instead because that was all I had time for... It really was a hectic work day yesterday! And still, some of the schools refused to submit their reports!

Today

Well, there are still a couple of schools who are really hard-headed and have yet to submit their data but that's their problem now... I have already organized the data that were given to me and made a partial consolidation and reported to our Administrative Officer which schools are delinquent. They would have to answer to the AO now... it's out of my hands... I still have other reports to finish but then that's another story... I at least have time to go bloghopping during lunch break and be able to post this!

Blinkies

I have made and uploaded my first two blinkies yesterday! Yey! The first one is the "I love Digiscraping" blinkie found in the addicting hobbies part of this blog and the other one is the "Thank You for visiting Winged Words" blinkie which I placed in the welcome guests box... hopefully I can make more as time goes by... maybe even more complicated ones... as for now, my current project is the changing of my blog template... I know, I know, I just changed it several months ago, but it's the new year and I want something new... maybe tomorrow, I'll be done with it already... haay! being cooped up in the house can get you tinkering on a lot of things talaga! Like last night I started creating a scrapbook (not a digital one but a real scrapbook on what our house looks like now and what I would want our house (the one that we bought in cavite -- strike that -- loaned pala!) to look like. I literally cut out pictures in magazines and pasted it on the scrapbook. Also I found this old, paint palette we were given when we once went to a builders' exhibit and ripped out the paint colors that I liked and stuck it to the scrapbook! My husband commented on me being overly excited about it when we don't even know when we would be given the "thumbs up" to start the renovations... I just smiled at him and said "better be ready, than be caught without plans"... the truth is, I really am excited, I mean, finally I would be able to do the things I want as to the paint color and placement of built in cabinets and installation of display cabinets in the kitchen and stuff...

Maybe I'm just bored... But at least me creative juices are still flowing even with this blasted allergies! Whatever, anyways... people, watch out for the changes that are coming to the look of this blog!

Welcome 2008!

Here I am, suffering from an asthma attack, yet I cannot help myself but post this before the moment passes me by... Charlie and I just watched fireworks of our neighbors at the stroke of midnight and then shared a simple media noche before finally retiring to bed at around 2am... after a couple of drinks and greetings with our neighbors. It was quite a simple and quiet celebration (compared to what I'm used to) but it was quite meaningful... it was just the two of us... hopeful that maybe next year, there would be an addition to our family already.

In The Eyes of Children

We often hear that Christmas is for children... I guess it really is, because when you look in the eyes of children during Christmas, you can truly feel the joy of the season. Here are a couple of pictures I took of Charlie's godson Enzo after he received his gift and of Kate, my goddaughter.

'Twas The Day After Christmas...

I was supposed to go back to work today but as I woke up at around 10 in the morning already, I saw that it was pointless to rush myself to go to work, well it is really not surprising that I overslept what with the tiring (but uber happy) day that was yesterday... Christmas morning was spent cleaning up the mess that was made the night before and then I started cooking for the Christmas lunch that I was hosting for my family. I cooked simple dishes that were family favorites: Chicken Curry, Inihaw na Bangus, Pork Barbeque and Beef Stew. My family arrived at around 12:30pm and we started eating lunch right away. After lunch, we opened our gifts for one another and watched TV for a while. Then after a few minutes of rest my baby sister, Mae helped me to cook carbonara for the visitors that I was expecting later that day (my godchildren... with their parents of course!). At around 3:00pm they (mom, dad, sisters & bro) bid me "adieu" to go visit my grandmother and my mom's siblings who were at my Aunt's house before finally going home. I caught a bit of R&R for an hour or two before my cousin Tin-Tin came with her son Enzo (Charlie's godson) together with her husband Elmer and two of her sisters, Lorraine and Levie. Elmer joined in the "drinking session" with Charlie and some of our neighbors in front of our house while Enzo opened his "ninong Chayie's" gift. After a while came Rosebeth (my officemate) with her daughter Kate (my goddaughter) and her husband Joseph, but since Kate was in "toyo" mode, they had to leave early. After a while Enzo wanted to go home also so the rest of my guests had to follow suit. That left me with loads of cleaning up to do on my own since Charlie was still with our neighbors outside, celebrating. Needless to say, by the time Charlie and our neighbors called it a night, I was already finished with the cleanup and it was already 1:30am! I'm not complaining though, I enjoyed the things I did because it made my family and friends happy... And now here I am, writing this post from home, but tomorrow its back to the office for me!

Today's breakfast caused me to alliterate. I love Amira's Chicken Tarts (actually I like all their tarts but their chicken tarts' my absolute favorite!). Yesterday, my ninang gave me a box of chicken tarts (9 pcs. per box) and 3 pcs. of apple tarts. Of course I didn't waste any time and ate two chicken tarts before the boxed pasalubong even reached our house. Then Charlie took three chicken tarts and two apple tarts for packed merienda or brunch or whatever (basta binaon nya to work today) so I decided to eat the same for my breakfast. Coupled with my favorite Jasmine Tea... it's heavenly! Nyahahaha! And to think I'm super ecstatic over something as trivial as breakfast! Hehehe! Basta I feel so chipper this morning and short of thinking I'm bordeline psychotic with the constant mood swings, I just choose to think that I'm just happy to be able to start the day with my favorite food to eat (and drink!).

Charlie's Day

We don't have time for a celebration today though... he has work overtime and I have to go to Cavite to visit the site of the house we're planning on buying. So, the celebration would have to wait until this weekend. Anyways, I love you honey, and I wish more happy and healthy birthdays for us to celebrate together.
