Weak-end
Spent the whole day at home. Charlie went on leave from work and my youngest sister slept over so we all just ordered food from a nearby fastfood and watched DVDs until the early part of the afternoon. By around 3pm my brother came over to fix my PC (which has been on the blink since last month) and we all just lazed around, listening to music while waiting for the re-formatting of my PC to be done. Way to start the weekend, right? Sitting around, watching tv for the early part of the day and then lying around just sound tripping the rest of the afternoon? Hahaha... I just feel so weak.... I don't even feel like cooking.
I finished a couple of layouts for my baby shower invitations... I am still not decided on the exact date yet (but I'm leaning towards the 12th of December) so I didn't print it out. Plus my guest list is still unfinished so...
It took me a long time before I became fully awake and ready to get out of bed... I feel so sleepy. I didn't feel like going to work and had to drag myself to the bathroom to wake myself up with a shower. I feel so lazy. But I have to finish several tasks at the office before the personnel audit so...

Singing Saturday
My current song of the week is:
There are a lot of things I want this Christmas
I have a list of what to give and receive
But they don't come in boxes wrapped in fancy paper
They just come in the simplest of things
Something weighs more than gold, the truth be told
Something means so much more
Something's better than anything tangible
And it's all we need
It's all we need
Love
Peace
Joy
Kindness
Humility
Positivity
And not to live in fear
Love
Faith
Hope
Friendship
Forgiveness
Happiness
To last through the years
[Interlude]
If there's one thing I have to be this Christmas
Is that I'd be a good example to the kids
To give my heart out to everyone who needs it
Life is not about the physical things
Something weighs more than gold, the truth be told
Something means so much more
Something's better than anything tangible
And it's all we need
It's all we need
Love
Peace
Joy
Kindness
Humility
Positivity
And not to live in fear
Love
Faith
Hope
Friendship
Forgiveness
Happiness
To last through the years
[Interlude]
Something weighs more than gold,
Something means so much more, so much more
Love
Peace
Joy
Kindness
Humility
Positivity
And not to live in fear
Love
Faith
Hope
Friendship
Forgiveness
Happiness
To last through the years
Love
Peace
Joy
Kindness
Humility
Positivity
And not to live in fear
Love
Faith
Hope
Friendship
Forgiveness
Happiness
To last through the years
Love
Love

Monday Madness
Anyway, I had very little done over the weekend because I have been feeling sick since Friday afternoon so I have nothing much to report. Just did a much needed shoe shopping yesterday (since my old office shoes are getting their well-deserved rest for a couple of months now - they don't fit me right anymore plus I prefer flats nowadays) and had a bit of room re-arranging (with the help of my sister, Mae) so as to accommodate the coming of the crib for the baby. Oh yeah, did I mention that hubby had a change of mind recently? Before, we were so set on moving to the townhouse we were able to acquire through Pag-ibig Housing Loan by January of next year - right before the baby arrives. Now, he's saying we should stay at our current apartment for a while longer and wait until the baby is older before we move so we would still be a stone's throw away from my parents' home and look in on their grandson while we're at work. I know it makes a lot of sense, but our apartment is so cramped that I had to be super creative as to the furniture arrangement so we could fit in our baby's coming stuff! It's good that my sister is currently on her Semestral Break and she was able to help me with the moving of the larger pieces of furniture (Charlie had to work over the weekend). And then after the exhausting re-arrangement, I treated my sister (and myself) to a meal at Karate Kid where I really enjoyed the potato balls and the bottomless iced tea, hehehe!

Mommy and Me

Nowadays, Saturdays or Sundays are usually spent with my mom, either just hanging around their house and being couch potatoes or going to the mall and browsing the shops for baby stuff. She even accompanied me to a prenatal check-up when Charlie was not able to come because of work... Thank you mom... for being the generous person that you are... and for being always available (specially now that she has retired from work) whenever I need to talk to someone who can be both sympathetic and objective as well. I love you mommy!

Let Me Explain...
I have not been able to blog or even just go online to check my e-mail for the last couple of days because Charlie and I became parents for the weekend (for the second time). This time, it was just the two of us who had to take care of baby Marianne because my sister was not with us to help. It was quite tiring but really gratifying to be able to take care of such an adorable bundle of joy. We picked Marianne (who hubby now calls "princess" and sometimes "baby namin") from my parents' place at around 4pm last Saturday and took her home for us to take care of for the rest of the weekend. That night, Charlie and I were both sleep deprived not because the baby was crying all the time but because we were both watching her closely. She sleeps well enough but she keeps tossing and turning (later on we found out that she's like that all the time) so we thought she was cold or someting so we put a blanket over her but she keeps taking it off so we just let her be. She woke us up (it's not like we were able to sleep deeply anyway) at around 4:30am and she was all smiles and cooing that you cannot resist playing with her right away. Hubby took her (on the stroller) for a walk around the subdivision at around 6am while I prepared breakfast and cleaned the house. And then after her bath and morning feeding she slept until lunch which was good because I was able to cook lunch before she woke up. Hubby had to fix the brakes on his motorcycle for a while so I was left with Marianne. We watched cartoons for a while, munched on a biscuit, jumped on the sofa (while holding on to me of course), crawled around the bed, had another bottle of milk and slept until 4pm. It was a good thing we finished the laundry on Saturday morning before we picked her up because we were not able to do any other chore around the house while taking care of the baby. Anyway, Charlie and I realized after my dad picked her up last night that having a baby isn't easy, specially if you don't have any help but it was doable. I had experience taking care of babies because I took care of my youngest sister and some of my other neices and nephews... Charlie on the other hand was a newbie and was quite surprised at how much attention the baby needs but all in all it was a weekend that would be on our top 10 most unforgettables and we would always be thankful to Marianne and her parents for letting us experience being parents even for just a couple of days.

Parents for a Day
the breeze outside and the clucking chickens nearby was keeping her busy
a picture with Uncle Charlie before they went on a short walk around the village
here she is munching on a cracker
and then here making "pa-ulan"
and here playing with the camera case
here, she shows off her itsy bitsy teeth (she was jumping while the picture was taken)
and then tired from doing all her tricks, winded down to rest...

Manic Monday
Well at least there's always the thought of Friday...
(Sigh... Sigh...)
Anyways, here's what's been happening eversince my last post:
November 27: Charlie got sick so he wasn't able to go to work, I wanted to bring him to a clinic to get a prescription but he said it's just his tonsils that was aching that's why he had fever so he just took the usual medication he takes when he has tonsilitis. (Men! Why can't they just admit it when they need to consult a real doctor?!)
November 28: I wasn't able to go to work as well because Charlie's fever won't go down and I decided to bring him to a clinic against his wishes. The doctor prescribed him with new medications and by afternoon he was feeling a bit better (Hmp, should've gone to the doctor in the first place, right?) Anyways, the rest of the afternoon I spent finishing the AVP that was due tomorrow for my Aunt's retirement tribute.
November 29: Still wasn't able to go to work because there were certain matters I had to attend to with regards to my Aunt's tribute, hey after this I'm thinking of doing this as another sideline... Anyways, my aunt's tribute went smoothly enough and Charlie was finally getting better (I was worried there for a time because he very rarely absents himself from work even if he feels a little under the wheather so I know he really felt sick that he called in sick.) BTW good thing I went home early from Makati where I set up the AVP or I would have been caught in the traffic caused by the Manila Peninula seige.
November 30: I was supposed to attend a team-building seminar at Cardona, Rizal but asked to be excused because I had to get another TVU which went well enough, now my OB is saying things are finally looking up for us in the conceiving department... hmmm... maybe... let's keep our fingers crossed...
December 1: Just stayed home all day while Charlie went to work.... finally finished putting up the christmas lights and decorations.
December 2: The usual sunday stuff... church, laundry, ironing of clothes, csi supreme sunday, foot spa...
Today: It's back to the salt mines for us! Just please, please let the work be just work and no more side stuff!

Daddy Turns 60
MySpace Graphics
Yesterday was fun and tiring for me... My dad turned 60 and I volunteered to prepare a special birthday lunch for him so our family could celebrate together. I cooked mechado, chicken fillet with mixed vegetables and quail eggs, grilled squid, lechon kawali & banana fritters with chocolate syrup. We only had few pictures because I was so tired from the preparations that I forgot about that. And right after lunch, my Dad fell asleep on the couch while we were watching CSI Supreme Sunday. They left at around three in the afternoon then Charlie and I re-arranged our plants and dog house... Whew! It was really quite a tiring but very productive weekend for me. I got to finish a lot of chores and even managed to give my dad a birthday blow-out.

Long, Busy Weekend
I did not go to work, instead I went with Malyn (Charlie's cousin) to Zapote where we ordered bamboo blinds that we would line our cement fence with and a couple of cypress plants. I'm really focusing on making a small "garden" in front of our apartment before the holidays since most of our "parties" would be held outside. Then we went to Makro-Las Piñas to buy a couple of single sofa beds for guests who would sleepover. But when Charlie texted that they were dismissed early from work and decided to follow us at Makro, the sofa bed idea got junked and instead we bought a new mattress for our bed so the old one could be used by guests. Then my uncle Andrew (but we call him Tito Boy) texted us that he would also go to Makro so we met up there then our group convoyed back to our apartment, ate late lunch (it was already around 2pm) then used Tito Boy's car to go gift shopping at Alabang Town Center. We were not able to buy any gifts though since the Tiangge at the middle isn't complete yet instead, Charlie and Tito Boy ended up buying shirts that were on sale at Olympic Village. When we got home, my youngest sister Mae was already there (for her weekend sleepover) with Malyn. I cooked beef with broccoli and all five of us had dinner before Tito Boy went home.
Friday (Dec. 1)
Since it was a holiday, Charlie wanted us to go out (basically because our noisy neighbors were at their noisiest again) so we went to SM Southmall with Mae & Malyn. I was able to buy gifts for my some of my inaanak as well as several plant pots and a new cutlery set. Charlie insisted that I buy my Christmas gift to him already so I bought him a pair of rubber shoes. I also bought a cute red bag for Mae and other trinkets at Egg.
Saturday (Dec. 2)
I woke up a bit later than usual, I was feeling pretty tired plus I think I ate something that upset my stomach because I was nauseous for a while. Mae and Malyn were already up so I had to quickly prepare breakfast for them (pancakes, fried eggs & bacon) and fix Charlie's baon for work. The bamboo blinds that I ordered were delivered after lunch but we couldnt install it right away because it was so hot outside. We just lazed around inside the house and watched DVDs. It was already around 4pm when my dad arrived to pick up Mae but before they went home, he helped me install the bamboo blinds and the kitchen utensils holder above the sink. I was replanting the last couple of plants when Charlie arrived with his co-worker Bong to place a "stand" for our refrigerator.
Sunday (Dec. 3)
It was laundry day for me since I was not able to do the laundry yesterday. I was feeling tired and irritable by lunch time that Charlie asked me if we could go out again. I was trying to refuse and was telling him that I wanted to just sleep the rest of the day but he was so insistent that we ended up going to SM Sucat. It was there that I found out that I was going to get my Christmas present early too. He bought me a 21" Sanyo Flat Screen TV for our room. Hehehe! I was bugging him about a TV for our room for several months already but he said that we didn't really need it since we already have a TV downstairs. And just when I was already giving up on the idea, my wonderful husband buys me the TV! Thanks honey! I love you!
So that's that! Tomorrow's another work day... haaaay! Sana weekend na ulit!
