Something New

Recently, I have been experiencing problems with regards to my blog so here goes another new thing for me... WINGED WORDS 2.... my new blog. Hopefully this would be for keeps! Blogger would continue to be special to me since I have quite a lot of memories invested here but the need for an outlet drove me to seek somewhere else, which would not cause too much stress while trying to post what I need to post... to my friends who frequent this blog, I hope you continue to keep in touch by visiting my new one.

The Month That Was

February proved to be quite a busy month for me, what with the move and adjustments I had to make because of that move, as well as getting into a new routine with Charlie's work schedule and weekly happenings with the family and friends... I must say the past 28 days really were jam-packed with home improvements, gardening, shopping for house needs, entertaining house guests, getting to know the neighborhood, as well as the usual busy work-month for me and Charlie. Hay, buti na lang this March would be less stressful for Charlie kasi less overtime na siya ako naman, hanggang 2nd week ng march na lang yung hectic schedule and then all will be well from here na. My one concern is that Charlie's asking me to come with him to Ilocos on the third week of April kaya lang baka mag-conflict with the seminar-workshop sa office. hmmm... di bale, we're planning naman to have a short vacation naman sa Baguio mga 1st week ng April and our usual overnight swimming by 2nd week of May. Tapos Charlie would be off to Hongkong by June! Kainggit! Sana matupad din yung target ko to go to Singapore by November. Sabi ni Charlie, sama daw siya, but only if I get an expensive pasalubong from Hongkong, hehehe!

Aside from the change of address, I also had a make-over (ngek! hair-cut lang pala). Tapos I also had a long-overdue visit sa spa for a whole body massage (hey, I deserve it after all the packing and moving) One thing that's bugging me lang up to this minute is that our phone line has yet to be transferred, hay naku I don't want to rant about the service of PLDT, not just yet anyway... Basta dapat by this week na-install na nila yung phone namin!

Our Home

Here are several pictures of our new (and improved) home... Di pa ko tapos sa aking own brand of interior design saka landscaping (hehe, kala mo laki ng garden area e!) pero super belated na kasi itong initial pictures na ito so i-post ko na lang muna, para merong before and after.

Amazing Race All-Stars

I am just so hooked on this series that I have to write about it. Ever since I watched and finished Amazing Race (season 3) I just have to watch each and every episode... too bad I missed season 5 but the rest, I kept close vigil of... But now, talagang super kaabang-abang pa lalo because my favorite team "Rob & Amber" is back! View Rob & Amber on innertube now
I'll be rooting for them, sana they'll be able to make it this time, kasi slightly disappointed ako nung mag-second lang sila nung season 7. Tapos David & Mary is a couple I'd also like to see make it to the finals kasi parang super bait nila tapos parang member of the masses pero they strive hard to finish the challenges din. I'm not rooting for Uchenna & Joyce kasi they already had their Million nung season 7. Tapos si Dustin & Kandice parang evil twin sisters sila (hehe, pero di naman sila sisters!) To everyone who likes this kind of program, it's aired on AXN every Monday 9:00PM with replays every Saturday 11:00AM.

Lazy Days

I just got back from a week of sick leave and here I am feeling down again... I don't know what's happening with me... I often feel lazy these days, even updating this blog tires me inexplicably! The whole week, last week... my head was - off and on - throbbing with pain and I felt like I was coming down with the flu or something. To top it off, my asthma is acting up again with the hot and cold weather... the smell of smoke from like a kilometer away (exaggerated naman!) irritates me so much. Haay naku, hopefully I wake up from this kainis phase of my life soon kasi I have a lot of stuff to do pa!

The Move

There’s always a time for firsts, and may I say ever since I met Charlie I have been experiencing a lot of firsts in my life. And this move, from an apartment to our new house is quite a big first for me…. Ok, granted that when Charlie and I lived together on our own after the wedding, it could be classified as a move for me but then I only moved my clothes, shoes, accessories and whatnot… All our furniture and appliances were delivered to our apartment. We didn’t have to pack like crazy the way we did this time. Man! Talk about fatigue! Charlie, honey... I know you didn't mean to drop the burden of packing all our stuff and moving on my shoulders on purpose but it really was quite a task for me. Good thing Malyn was there to help out.

Our ordeal started last Wednesday, January 24. I had to go on leave from work so as to get a jumpstart on packing the stuff that we have accumulated in the past 9 months that we have been living together. I didn't, not even in my wildest dreams, think that the stuff we get for ourselves every now and then could be that much already! Whew! We had to bubble wrap the fragile stuff, label every box, bag every single piece of clothing and pack everything carefully! Of course I also had to arrange for our cable and phone lines to be transferred to our new address... All that time I kept telling myself, "I could do this, I could do this!". I mean, if I was able to make all the preparations for our wedding on my own then, then this would be a breeze. But this task was more than just finding suppliers and haggling with them, this was physically challenging also! By Friday afternoon, I was slowed down with a minor asthma attack... and we were still on the last phase of packing by the time the "lipat-bahay" truck arrived on Saturday morning (Jan. 27). And just when I thought things would be easier from thereon in... Came the unloading of the stuff that we packed for three days! Wow! Good thing we would not be moving again for a long time... At least now, we have put everything in its place and would just be cleaning up the floors that we have messed up, hehehe... Special thanks nga pala to my Dad and my brother, Howard for helping out with the move. Haay! Saka na pictures, I forgot to photograph the house na kasi super pagod na.

Wacky Charlie

First let me say... Belated Merry Christmas, Belated Happy New Year, Belated Happy Three Kings and Advance Happy Valentines to everyone! Needless to say, the holidays became too much to handle what with the preparations for parties, get-togethers, not to mention the endless gift-hunt and wrapping galore got to me so much that I didn't have the chance to go online and then we had to look for a new house (because our environment where we currently just became so unbearable, maybe I'll make kwento later... much later!) so... anyways, now I'm back, blogging again... a couple of pounds heavier from all the holiday food, but happier because We will be moving to our new abode in a week or so. Haay! Nakakapagod pala sobra maghanap ng bahay, specially kung may certain requirements na katulad sa amin ni Charlie. Tapos we have to transfer everything, not only our things but the phone line, the TV cable subscription and all that. Pero at least we're halfway done already. Just the big move maybe this weekend or the next... Nakakahinayang lang kasi kakatapos lang namin ayusin yung mga plants namin sa munting space namin sa harap ng apartment namin ngayon.

Here's a picture of my often comical and child-like husband one afternoon when he suddenly said he wants a remembrance of our mini-garden before we move. The good news is that we'll have a bigger space for a garden in our new house. Basta siguro after the move I'll be more active sa blogging saka I'll have more time to answer e-mails... pasensya na to everyone na na-delay ang mga reply ko. Mas mahabang kwento to follow, but back to work muna for now.
